With the coming of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack next year, recent events in Michigan remind us that it is an opportune time to reflect upon the current threat environment to the U.S. homeland. 

Not only do we continue to face the looming threat posed by foreign terrorist groups, but we also must confront threats driven by recent events that domestic extremists have taken advantage of. In addition to such events as COVID-19 and ongoing demonstrations against racial injustice and police brutality, we are reminded by our various intelligence agencies of the threats posed by homegrown domestic terrorists.

He immediately established an investigative organization within the FBI that, within days, identified the funding stream that supported these attacks. This is but one example of his expertise in assessing and establishing viable and effective recommendations that produce results.
