David Drake

Farm Loan Chief 
USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA)


David Drake, Farm Loan Chief for USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Ohio, is responsible for all loan making and loan servicing activities for USDA’s Farm Loan Programs in the state of Ohio, which includes a loan portfolio of over $1.3 Billion dollars. 

David has been with USDA for 39 years, serving as County Supervisor, Farm Loan Specialist and as Farm Loan Chief for the last 32 years.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University in agriculture education, and has taught vocational agriculture.  

David is also the owner/operator of an Angus cow/calf, alfalfa hay and grain farm in east central Ohio. 

From January 1, 2016 to January 13, 2017, David served as the Assistant Deputy Administrator for Farm Loan Programs for USDA’s Farm Service Agency in Washington, D. C., assisting in the supervision of a nationwide loan portfolio of over $24 Billion.
